Awws, not an animal? Oh well. I'd be a stuffed animal, because they're adorable, and act as a form of security when people most need it at times~

Why am I doing this. {Mean Girls 2 Review}
Jan. 23rd, 2011 | 10:34 pm
mood:
irritated
Okay, the moment I turned this on and started watching this, I felt an utter desire to write a review for this.
First off, I'd like to say this: The "protagonist" of this movie, Joan I think it was, is a total Mary Sue. Think about it. Goth look, "I hate the world and all its inhabitants" attitude, new student, ability to lead a clique against the Plastics (which appears to have a goth/emo flair, which stereotypically opposes the prep and rich style the Plastics have) and attract many of the young male cast of characters, knows the other main characters' history/relationships with each other, has a sad past, and possesses a semi-DILF who drives in NASCAR. SHE RIDES A MOTHERFRUKING SCOOTER FOR ROME'S SAKE Where the hell is Cady Heron? I'm starting to miss Lindsay Lohan already.
So yeah. Not liking the characters so far. :I Also, the main antagonist and de facto leader of the Plastics, Mandy, is such a total cliche popular girl. Even the name "Mandy" is a stereotypical name for a popular, mean girl. Plus, the girl who plays her (you may know her from the Disney Channel show Cory in the House; I don't remember her name) is such a horrible actress it hurts me just to even see her.
...let me correct myself. Everyone, except for Jennifer Stone - who is okay, but better than everyone else - and Tim Meadows, is a dreadful actor in this movie. No wonder it went directly to DVD.
Aw. I feel bad for the artsy girl. All the students in the school ruthlessly bully her, and under Mandy's command. No one seems to stand up or even say something to them except, oh wait, Joan. What a big surprise. She's also her first friend too. Seriously. This movie is just... gah. So far, it's offending me. Why does it matter? Those who know me closely know this, but nothing ever offends me. Except for shit movies like this one. And SchoolGirls or whatever that bloody Nick Cannon movie was called.
Let's continue on, shall we?
Oh, now Joan is speaking out against the adults too. And look it. One of the artsy girl's parents is stupid enough to believe that he can buy his daughter a friend. Given that is a dumb thing to believe as an adult, I would politely tell him that it isn't what I would do personally. But you don't have to be rude about. He's an adult. Jesus Howard Christ. The writers needed deeper characters in this movie. The two back-up chicks are basically copies of the original second and third Plastics from Mean Girls.
Mandy is a health freak too. Which is part of another cliche. Because most of the popular, meanish girls I know actually EAT.
FIRST NEW STUDENT IN AGES. MY MARY-SUE METER IS BREAKING.
Boy. Now it's time for bitchy, stereotypical mean girl sabotage-break in time. Wow. What a surprise. And they break her scooter. But she still manages to drive it through the school and look "badass". How this movie irks me, but I'm only going to finish it only for the sake of this review. No other reason, I swear. >u>
.....aaaaannnddd she just made a fashion statement. Seriously? Seriously. :I
Okay. So the guy Jo likes is apparently Mandy's step-brother. Wow. I did not see that coming.
CUE MARY SUE DRAMATIC LET'S DESTROY PLASTICS STANCE.
What? The artsy girl and Mary Sue are best friends already? How long has it been exactly?
"Easy upchuck"? Are you kidding me? That's a way to stop a party? By putting it on pizza?
Also I find it easily impossible that nobody came to Mandy's birthday party and they all went to the artsy girl's one. Reality-wise, I mean.
Now the war against the Plastics vs. Anti-Plastics (Jo's newly formed group) begins. And, like in the first movie, they break up the founding members. This movie really needs their own ideas.
Jo is now the "Queen Bee" within the school. And now here comes the part where everyone hates and leave her. Again with the needed original ideas.
THEY'RE BACK TO HELP FIGHT AGAINST MANDY. VHEWF9JSJWEF UGH WAIT HOW DOES A FLAG FOOTBALL GAME SOLVE GIRL DRAMA?
Okay, as it turns out, in the end the Anti-Plastics win the football game, artsy girl is Homecoming Queen, and Jo gets to go to her dream college thanks to artsy girl's dad and a Wood Shop scholarship. HAPPY ENDING FOR ERREBODY.
So I basically hated this movie. I might be a bit biased though, seeing as I absolutely love the original Mean Girls and am exposed to actual acting. It makes me sound snotty, I know, but still. >_>
I wouldn't recommend seeing it, unless you've never seen the "first" (and only, I consider) Mean Girls and actually enjoy these kinds of movies. The Mean Girls was supposed to be a parody of teen movies, not like this. The successor has utterly failed its predeccesor.
And with that, I bid you adieu~

I loved the Warriors series, because of the plot and just the entire concept of it. Plus, my friends were all into it as well, which only fueled my obsession over it. ♥

Requiem of the Golden Witch - Thoughts {Umineko Chiru Spoilers}

devious
Okay, I was going to do one of my crack reviews on this, but since it's taken me almost a week to finish and it's too damn long, I just thought I would share my views on it so far.
This is my first time reading a Umineko Visual Novel, seeing as I first got into the series by watching the anime. However, I'm kind of used to the style of it, as I saw some parts of EP6 on Youtube. I'm more used to the artwork than I was before; R07 isn't that good of an artist, but I hear it's better than Higurashi so I'll take their word for it.
Now, then, let us continue.
All the backstory subplots. I thought there was only the KinBeato one (which was really cute and sweet like the Yasu subplot), but the ones with Jessica and Maria were kind of unnecessary. But, I do see how they fit into Will's figuring out who the "killer" of Beatrice was. They made the story seem longer though holy balls. ;A;
Yasu's story - which I'm almost done finishing up, btdubs - is pretty damn awesome and explains a lot. I'm pretty sure Clair! Beatrice is my new favorite character, if peeps who know me on Twitter/FB couldn't tell already (my icon for this post is actually Clair. Go freaking figure.) I still think Yasu is a girl, which would make Lion a girl. Oh well. It kind of makes sense, don'tcha think~?
Young Battler is really kind of a douche, standing Shannon up like that. Silly Battler, for giving a woman dreams! XD
I also love the relationship between Will and Lion. It's such an... interesting one, really. It's up there in my favorite Umineko pairings alongside BatBeato and KinBeato. So yeah, I'm starting to ship them together now. Who doesn't ship them, actually? XD;;
I can't wait to read the almost three hour-long tea party. Oh boy. I've heard the basis of what happened in it but it seems exciting and whatnot. Apparently, Kyrie is the bitch, not Eva...? Oh well. I didn't really like Kyrie from the get-go anyways.
(EDIT - 1/22/11)
Okay, I read the tea party a while ago, and oh my God. It all makes sense.
Poor Ange though. ;A;
